About CuriousPaw

CuriousPaw started from a simple observation: when people get a puppy, they suddenly have a hundred questions — and most of the answers they find online are either vague, contradictory, or written to sell them something.

What CuriousPaw is

CuriousPaw is an educational resource for new puppy owners. We cover behaviour, health, training, and nutrition — in plain language, without jargon, and without an agenda. Every article is written to help you understand your puppy better so you can make more confident decisions about their care.

We are not a veterinary service. We do not diagnose, prescribe, or replace professional advice. What we do is help you arrive at your vet appointment with better questions, a clearer picture of what you’re seeing, and the confidence that comes from actually understanding what’s happening with your dog.

Who this is for

This site is built for the person who just brought a puppy home and is quietly panicking. The one googling “is it normal for a puppy to sleep this much” at 11pm. The one who didn’t expect it to be this intense, this messy, or this confusing — and who just wants honest, calm answers from someone who actually knows.

If that’s you, you’re in the right place.

How we approach our content

Every article on CuriousPaw is written to reflect current understanding in veterinary medicine and animal behaviour science. We do not publish opinions dressed up as facts. Where evidence is mixed or evolving — which is more often than most sites admit — we say so clearly.

Content is reviewed by contributors with relevant professional backgrounds. We update articles when guidance changes. We include sources where they exist. And we always tell you when something is a grey area that deserves a conversation with a professional rather than a quick read.

What we will never do

We will never recommend a product because it pays us more. We will never publish something we do not genuinely believe is useful. We will never pretend there is a simple answer to something that is genuinely complicated.

The puppy years are intense. CuriousPaw exists to make them a little less confusing.
